Temperature Rules for Pool
WE USE ACCUWEATHER SERVICE TO PREDICT THE HIGHS FOR THE DAY.
The rule is that the air temperature needs to be 65 degrees or above for the pool to open for swim lessons or members. Different weather apps give different temperatures and what's displayed in our cars, as the outside temperatures vary even more! So we use the Accuweather temperatures, which is posted on link below. Our lifeguards do not always remain at the pool if the temperatures are below 65 degrees. If the temperature increases, it is the lifeguard's responsibility to then come in and open the pool. Please be patient if the guard takes a few minutes to drive in, open and get set up. Thank you for your understanding.
Temperature Rules for Swim Team
Very rarely do we cancel practice. The pool is heated. If the projected high is 59 degrees or below as a high for the day, we will not have practice. If you wake up at 8:15 am for morning practices and it says 57 degrees..... most likely it is going to get warmer. If it is raining and 57 degree... probably not. Because we practice at early morning and late at night we will usual have cooler temps. Swim Team Coordinator will send out email letting team know if there is a cancellation of practice. Otherwise plan on coming.
